OUR JOURNEY

Powerboat P1 has eight years experience in delivering more than 85 world championship races in 12 different countries.

Due to the current concerns over climate change and ecological degradation, Powerboat P1 has been assessing its role within the environmental sector, and recognises the concept of corporate social responsibility.

As a result Powerboat P1 is implementing effective environmental measures throughout its own sporting community and founded P1 Marine Foundation with the intention that environmental issues go beyond the scope of the company to communities and environments that have provided great benefits for powerboat racing across the globe.

The P1 Marine Foundation was established in September 2010 as the charitable arm of Powerboat P1, to preserve and improve the natural environment for this generation and those to follow.

OUR MAIN VALUES

Conservation
P1 Marine Foundation recognises the ecological importance of the marine environment is irreplaceable and essential. Therefore is committed to conservation by promoting and supporting research through creating partnerships, fundraising and raising awareness.

Education
P1 Marine Foundation believes that education is a fundamental element in protecting the marine environment. Therefore we are dedicated to creating and implementing an education program to develop the understanding and value of marine life.

OUR KEY AIMS

Public Awareness
We seek to find new creative initiatives in public awareness that can benefit the marine environment and the future of the community.

Through our initiatives and campaigns we will promote the benefits of environmental best practice to the public in coastal communities and beyond.

Education
We aim to engage with local and international communities to form a global network through education programmes.

Ocean Aware is our initiative that brings outreach programmes to local schools. This scheme will communicate the importance of environmental responsibility as students will gain knowledge and get involved with current ecological issues. This is implemented through workshops and sessions.

Partnerships
We intend to create partnerships to form a network of ideas and initiatives to help and promote the health of the oceans.

We are currently developing partnerships with universities from across the UK to support academic research through awards and scholarships.
